Snooters: a VR experience reimagining a local dance club

Snooters is a project I designed exploring virtual reality’s potential for allowing players to embody characters, assume new identities, and express themselves differently than they would in traditional social environments. Users adopt the identity of an ambiguous bipedal creature in a surreal and absurd reimagining of local student nightlife, and are encouraged to dance with the surrounding characters.

Software Used:

  • Blender (3D modeling, rigging, UV mapping)
  • Adobe Substance Painter (texturing)
  • Adobe Photoshop (additional texturing)
  • Mixamo (motion capture for animation)
  • Unity (VR implementation, lighting, inverse kinematics)
