Aidan Klein — character-obsessed multimedia designer
I study why made-up people feel real — then design graphics, characters, games, and stories that act like they know you. Backed by undergraduate research in personality psychology and multimedia storytelling at Duke.
About
I'm Aidan — a designer and researcher finishing a self-designed degree at Duke University in Character Studies: Personality, Storytelling, and Embodiment. Translation: I spent four years studying why we cry over people who don't exist, and how to build new ones worth crying over.
That research runs through everything I make. A logo, a game mechanic, a puppet, a plot twist — each one is a character making a first impression. My work across graphic, character, game, and narrative design starts with the same questions a psychologist would ask a new client: What do you want? What are you afraid of? And why do you dress like that?
Off the clock I co-founded Duke's first game development club, shipped game-jam entries into the top 0.5% of 7,000+ submissions, and once played chess in VR as a tiny cat. For research. Obviously.
